My Future Men

We had day 2 of our interview with Grandpa. He pulled out his military dress blues. Isaac tried them on and they fit him to a T. Grandpa was quite amused at the proof that he used to be so thin!
Reuben and Sam also tried on Grandpa's jacket. I'm so thankful that my future men have such heros to look up to. They sat and listened intently to a patriarch, who loves them dearly, share his life with us. Such wisdom comes from those who have journeyed long. Thank you to my dear Grandpa for sharing lessons and triumphs and giving all the glory to God.

Here is a picture of Grandma LaVera standing in front of the beautiful spirea bushes at her parents' home back in 1948.

Kathy now lives on that property and we took the opportunity to get some pictures of the children in front of those very same spirea bushes 65 years later.

Isaac is standing in front of Aunt Kathy's house where my Great Grandparent's house used to stand. Some of the old sidewalk leading up to the old house is still there by the front porch.
A few other highlights of today were Billy and Belle.

  1. What fun it was to read about your trip! And what a great idea to write a photo log of each day. I wish I had done that for our Vermont trip--maybe next year...

    Anyhoo, thank you for sharing;)
